Swedish organization Ninjas in Pyjamas sign deal with Juventus FC
3 December 2024
It’s all about deals and collaborations in international esports, as esports organizations look to bring in lucrative sponsorship deals with companies from more mainstream industries looking to get in on the rapidly growing esports market. Just last week, we wrote an article about PUBG Mobile signing a collaboration with American Tourister and not long before that, we covered the team-up between Team Liquid and blockchain company Sui. This time, we are taking to the world of international elite football though, as Swedish esports organization has just announced a brand-new partnership with Italian powerhouse football club Juventus FC.
Transfer to Juventus Esports
As part of the new collaboration between Ninjas in Pyjamas and the Serie A giants, Olle “Ollelito” Arbin will be joining Juventus as a player for their official EA FC 25 team. The Swedish youngster, who won the ePremier League 2023 Finals and the EA Sports Cup 2023 last year, will be representing the Italian club in both the eSerie A Goleador (the esports version of the Serie A) and the eSupercup. He will also feature in various promotions and other activations for and by Juventus official EA FC 25 squad.
“We have exciting news for EA FC fans!”, writes Ninjas in Pyjamas on their own website, “Our very own Ollelito is taking the next step in his incredible esports journey, joining Juventus Creator Lab for the 2024/25 season as their official EA FC 25 pro player. From his historic FUT Champions Cup win in 2020 to dominating the ePremier League in 2022/23, Ollelito has proven time and again why he’s one of the best in the game. Now, on loan from Ninjas in Pyjamas, he’ll don the black and white jersey, competing in marquee events like the eSerie A and eSupercup. We’re incredibly proud to see Ollelito represent both Juventus and NIP on the global stage, showcasing the skills and passion that make him a standout talent in the esports world. His journey starts 6 December at the eSupercup in Florence—let’s cheer him on as he takes this next big step! Forza Juventus and good luck, Ollelito!”
Juventus and esports
The partnership with Ninjas in Pyjamas is not Juventus’ first venture into the world of international esports. In the past, the Italian club also launched apparel in collaboration with esports organization OpTic and gave the Astralis Group control over their esports department for a while, amongst other initiatives.
“We are proud to announce a partnership between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Juventus Football Club!”, writes Fabio Fusco, Head of Partnerships & Sales at Ninjas in Pyjamas, on his own LinkedIn account, “It is just the beginning of an exciting journey designed to deliver innovative experiences for fans across both industries on multiple levels. A pleasure working on this project from start to finish alongside the talented Juventus professionals and co-workers who made this possible. A huge thank you to everyone - across marketing, partnerships, communications, sales, brand, legal, media, and all departments involved, for your hard work. As someone with a background in football, this project is especially meaningful to me. It’s a convergence of two worlds I’ve always believed have incredible potential together - grateful to have contributed to making it happen!”
