PUBG Mobile signs partnership with American Tourister

Partnerships are booming in the world of international esports. Last month, we wrote about FIFA extending their partnership with Konami and just last week, we published an article about the launch of blockchain platform MyBlue by Team Liquid, just to give a couple of recent examples. Next on that list is PUBG Studios, the publishers behind the hugely popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile, who have just announced a brand-new collaboration with American Tourister. As part of the deal, the famous luggage brand will launch a special PUBG Mobile-themed luggage set, while PUBG Mobile players can look forward to exclusive in-game items.
Limited luggage range
At the moment of writing, the partnership between PUBG Mobile and American Tourister has only just been announced (check out the official announcement video here on the official PUBG Mobile Youtube channel), but we already know when the official launch will take place. On Wednesday, December 24th 2024, American Tourister will present a limited edition PUBG Mobile-themed range of luggage, based in the new American Tourister ROLLIO models.
“Introducing Rollio, a revolutionary luggage design that breaks free from the the traditional shapes”, writes American Tourister on their own website about the ROLLIO luggage range, “With the ROLLIO, you not only make a fashion statement but also embrace functionality and sustainability. Join the movement of trendsetters and express yourself with this stylish luggage collection.”
The companies have also revealed some details about the upcoming PUBG Mobile luggage, including models and availability. We already know that American Tourister will be offering a backpack and a cabin suitcase, possibly amongst other models, which will be available from the second quarter of 2025 onwards. The first markets where the range of luggage will be sold are Bahrein, Egypt, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It’s not clear at this moment whether the items will also be sold in other, like the United States and Europe, at some point in the future.

Virtual items not revealed yet
Of course, much of the appeal of the partnership between PUBG Mobile and American Tourister for the game’s players and fans comes from the in-game items. Unfortunately though, neither company has disclosed more information yet in this regard.
“American Tourister is an iconic brand known for creating stylish and durable luggage that resonates with young and adventurous travellers”, says Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG Mobile Publishing at Tencent Games (one of the game’s publishers), “Partnering with them allows us to bring this same spirit into PUBG MOBILE through both in-game content and real-world products, which we know our players will be excited about.”
