Long-awaited return of eFootball Championship Pro set for February

31 January 2023

Manchester United, FC Bayern Munich, AC Milan. Those are just a few of the names that will be starring during the upcoming eFootball Championship Pro 2023 event. For the first time in three years, Konami’s hugely popular international eFootball event will return to LAN events and it’s promising to be a big one. From February 11th 2023 to June 24th 2023, some of the best football clubs in the world will be facing each other to determine who will be the next eFootball Championship Pro champion. At the same time, Konami will be organizing its heavily anticipated third season of the eFootball Open Championships, which is open to any player of the game, professional or not.

Eight professional top clubs

We already mentioned three of the professional clubs that will be participating in the upcoming eFootball Championship Pro 2023, but there’s more. Much more. Besides Manchester United, Bayern Munich and AC Milan, the likes of Arsenal, AS Monaco, AS Roma, FC Barcelona and Internazionale Milano will also be competing for the title. That competition is offline, as we mentioned earlier, and will be taking place in Barcelona, Spain, spread across five months. The complete calendar for the eFootball Championship Pro 2023 is as following:

Regular League

  • Matchday 1 : February 11th, 2023
  • Matchday 2 : March 4th, 2023
  • Matchday 3 : March 18th, 2023

Knockout Stage : June 24th, 2023

Over the course of seven matchdays and an undoubtedly thrilling Knockout Stage, the previously mentioned eight top side will decide amongst them who will take the title from reigning champions AS Monaco (unless it’s the French side themselves, of course). All of the action will be streamed live and for free on the @play_efootball Youtube channel, where you will be able to follow the action from desktops, laptops and mobile devices.

Enter the competition yourself

While the eFootball Championship Pro 2023 is reserved for professional esports players who have been contracted by one of the participating football clubs, Konami has not forgotten about the millions of people who are not professional esporters, either. Under the name “eFootball Open Championships”, the Japanese developer has created a separate competition for casual players that will take place roughly during the same period as the eFootball Championship Pro 2023 event. The conditions for participation in the Open Championships could not be simpler, because the only thing a player needs to enter is a valid eFootball Dream Team to play with.

The non-professional event consists of three opening rounds, followed by the Online Finals, which will take place in June of this year. The best teams from the Online Finals qualify for the World Finals, which will be held in late August 2023. All of the games will be played online, except the World Finals, which will be held offline and streamed live to a worldwide audience.
