International launches of Honor of Kings coming up

For more than eight years already, Honor of Kings has been breaking records in the world of multiplayer online battle arena games. Launched in 2015, the game reported over 100 million daily active players by 2020 and its earnings had exceeded $ 2,45 billion by that time, making Honor of Kings one of the most popular and highest-grossing mobile games of all time. Despite all that, chances are considerable that you have never played this game before if you have not lived or are not currently living in China.
That’s because Honor of Kings is a MOBA that was created and published by the Chinese company Tencent Games for the iOS and Android mobile platforms in mainland China. This is about to change though, because one of the other publishers of the game, Level Infinite, has revealed that Honor of Kings is finally set to go international in 2024. This year, another major title is joining the international esports arena.
Different launch dates
The official international launch of Honor of Kings consists of several events, spread over different global regions. For a majority of territories, the game will launch officially on Thursday, June 20th 2024, while a few countries in the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region will already have access from Wednesday, February 21st 2024 onwards. Honor of Kings is determined to bring the heat to some of the most popular international esports MOBA titles of the moment, including PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Gaming fans in territories such as North America, South America, and Europe are next in line to join the 100 million daily players on the world’s most-played mobile MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena). The free-to-play game offers paid content such as cosmetic upgrades and battle passes; the developers have designed upgrades to offer some conveniences, but not to favor paying players with gameplay advantages. The global launch of Honor of Kings will also take into account placing game servers across the globe, in order to provide low latency gameplay.”

Soft launch in Brazil
Before announcing the international launch dates, Honor of Kings already went through a successful international soft launch in Brazil last year. For the occasion, the Honor of Kings Brazil Championship 2023 was organized and with great success, because later that same year, Honor of Kings was voted “Best Game of 2023” during the Google Play User’s Choice Awards in Brazil. The next international event is set for March of this year, when the Honor of Kings Invitational Series 2024 will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
