Epic Games unveils 2026 Fortnite Champion Series roadmap
8 September 2025
At the moment of writing, the Fortnite Champion Series 2025 – Global Championship finished just a few days ago, with the trio Egor “SwizzY” Luciko, Aleksa “Queasy” Cvetkovic and Andrejs “Merstach” Piratovs clinching the title and the accompanying $ 450.000 in prize money. The event took much of the spotlight in the international esports community, but that doesn’t mean Epic Games was going to rest on its laurels for a bit. On the contrary, because as soon as the 2025 Fortnite Global Championship was over, the game’s publisher unveiled the competitive roadmap for the 2026 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS).
Fortnite Champion Series
The Fortnite Champion Series, often abbreviated as simply the FNCS, is the most important Fortnite: Battle Royale tournament on the annual Fortnite calendar. The first-ever edition of the tournament was held in 2019 and every Fortnite season since then has had its own FNCS. Each region has its own Champion Series, which are played simultaneously, and the Global Championship brings the best players from every region together to decide who is the best Trio (or Duo) in the world. This is also the Fortnite event with the biggest prize pool every year. The 2025 Global Championship, for example, that was recently played, had a prize pool of no less than $ 2.000.001.
4 LAN events
As a result, the reveal of the competitive roadmap for the new Champion Series is a moment that is much anticipated by the worldwide Fortnite community ever year. And the recent reveal by Epic Games was more than worth the wait, because two new LAN events were added to the 2026 calendar. Besides the hugely successful Global Championship and Pro-Am (in which celebrities and pros team up for a special competition), the FNCS Mid-Season and the Reload Elite Series were added to the competitive Fortnite roadmap. The publisher has not revealed much more information about these news events, but more is expected soon.
- FNCS Mid-Season: a new international Fortnite event created to bring the best players together more frequently.
- Reload Elite Series: a series of competitive LAN events related to Fortnite Reload mode.
Good news for the players and fans in Europe as well, because even though Epic Games has not yet revealed any details in terms of locations and dates, they did announce that one of the FNCS 2026 LAN events will be held in Europe. It will follow in the footsteps of the 2025 FNCS – Global Championship, which was held in Lyon-Décines (France) last weekend.
New mobile series
The FNCS Mid-Season and the Reload Elite Series are not the only new additions to the roadmap, compared to last season. Epic Games has also announced a full-fledged $ 1 Million Mobile Series, a dedicated global competition for Fortnite Mobile players with a massive prize pool. A mobile event was expected after the return of Fortnite to the iOS Apple Store back in May of this year, almost five years after it had been removed, but players and fans were still surprised by the size (and prize pool) of the new event.
